Story

Anna Pham, the creator behind Whilom, weaves nostalgia into each handmade piece in her Brisbane studio.

Her roots can be traced back to a childhood enriched by the noisy whirring and humming sounds of sewing machines. Her parents, boat people who immigrated to Australia from Vietnam, had big dreams and unwavering determination, they worked around the clock manufacturing garments for a variety of local Australian fashion brands.

Growing up with humble beginnings, Anna's childhood included the cherished experience of thrift-shopping with her mother. As an adult, her affection for vintage shopping evolved from necessity to an appreciation of style, sustainability and the unique stories woven into each garment.

At Whilom, Anna transforms these tales, up-cycling vintage textiles such as tablecloths, napkins and tea towels into one of a kind pieces. Each piece isn't just a garment; it's a tribute to resilience, memories, and timeless elegance.

With over a decade of experience as a fashion designer and her unique upbringing, Anna has developed an exceptional eye for style, as well as deep knowledge and understanding of textiles and garment construction.

Whilom represents a harmonious blend of the past and present, a culmination of necessity, design and heritage.
